The builder checked and blocked several possible entrances, but to no effect. Ian Wallace, SuffolkA It is unusual for the stoat, Mustela erminea, to climb into lofts, but not unprecedented. In Europe the closely related and much larger beech marten, Martes foina, is a common house invader and sometimes called the house marten — not to be confused with the house martin bird.
