Senate Resolution 1002 calls for the declaration of every first Thursday of February starting this year and every year thereafter as the “Synchronized National Interfaith Prayers for Peace and Reconciliation.”Twin explosions rocked Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Jolo on January 27, Sunday, a day of worship for Catholics, leaving 21 people dead and 97 others hurt. At about 12:20 a.m on Wednesday, a grenade exploded at a mosque in Sitio Logoy Diutay, Barangay Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City killing at least two Muslim worshippers and wounding three others. An interfaith movement launched in 2017, PasaLord Prayer Movement seeks to unite Filipinos of various creeds and denomination to pray for peace in the Philippines, its founder and lead convenor Mrs. Lourdes “Bing” Pimentel said.
