Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premiership in Steven Gerrard’s first season in charge of the club, and the ex-Liverpool skipper is keen to go one better next season. Gerrard has made no secret of the fact that he intends to improve his squad by spending in the transfer market, and looks set to seal a deal with highly-rated youngster Umaro Balde. According to the Evening Times, Balde will sign a two-year deal at Ibrox in the coming days, and join up with his team-mates ahead of their pre-season friendlies. The 19-year-old Sporting Lisbon ace can play on both wings and his deal shows that the Gers are not wasting time in their attempts to boost they chances of winning a trophy next season.
