Tripoli-based Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, reviewed today a proposal submitted by a private Libyan company of a centre pivot irrigation project to grow wheat and barley using solar energy. The government reported that the centre pivot irrigation project aims to bring about special development in the regions of the Libyan south, within the framework of the Prime Minister’s interest in empowering youth by supporting small and medium-sized projects (SMEs). The centre pivot irrigation initiative, the government added, also explores opportunities for young people to empower small and medium enterprises in the agricultural field, especially in the southern regions in cultivating grains, as grains are an essential element in the food industry and operating with solar energy. The Tripoli government said that PM Aldabiba said that he had launched an initiative that allows the private sector, who have developmental and creative ideas, to present them to the government and its officials. The government said that its Hakomitna Facebook page will be designated as a way to receive proposals from the private sector wishing to present them to the government through a committee that will be established in this regard.
