An Italian Airlines (ITA) test flight arrived from Rome at Tripoli’s Mitiga airport today, carrying Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba. Its arrival ends a hiatus of about 10 years because of the European Union flight ban on Libya. He confirmed the start of flights for citizens via commercial aviation to Rome in September. ‘‘We have work ahead of us to abolish the ban imposed on Libyan aircraft in the European Union, and today’s step will help in this direction.’’, he explained.
