The much-awaited durian season has arrived, and many may have seen durian advertisements online, including on Facebook. Due to the movement control order, durian sellers have taken their business online since most physical stores are closed or are subjected to shorter operating hours. I, unfortunately, became a victim of an online scam last Saturday. After seeing a durian sale advertisement on Facebook, I reached out to the seller to ask about the price and products. The next morning, I contacted the seller through Facebook to confirm the delivery time.

I want to encourage my children to be more active now that it’s warm out. But when physical activity is a regular part of family life from a young age, kids are more likely to continue to be active even as they get older. Parents can play a key role in helping their children become more physically active. > Provide active toysYoung children especially need easy access to balls, jump ropes and other active toys. > Be a role modelChildren who regularly see their parents enjoying sports and physical activity are more likely to do so themselves.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a man's claim that he was injected with an empty syringe at a vaccination centre here. When contacted, the 28-year-old software engineer claimed he went to the Mitec KL vaccination centre on Saturday (July 17) to receive his first dose of vaccine and never thought the empty syringe issue would happen to him. "She then rubbed my arm with an alcohol swab and just took the empty syringe and jabbed it into my arm. He added that he was raising the issue because it could be extremely dangerous if anyone did not receive proper vaccination. He only received the vaccine after pointing it out to the vaccination centre personnel.

The mistake was relatively innocuous – it was simply a misreading of the question – but because it was maths, and even though the working was correct, the answer was absolutely wrong. That’s also what the other 30 or so kids in the online class also chose to do – they didn’t correct the teacher. And it’s pretty much what many adults also choose to do when they have to decide whether to tell their boss he/she is wrong. So how you would tell people they are wrong depends on where in the world you are. Basically, a correct answer was marked as wrong.

Software talent, it seems, is in such high demand that companies are morphing how they hire. Good and experienced tech workers are being treated like local celebrities – hounded by recruiters, courted by managers, and bestowed a bevy of options before choosing their next boss. The job outlook for workers like Chesnutt has been good for much of the past decade. Suddenly, software talent could pick and choose from a massive pool of job opportunities. Bartholomew said he’s watched a great migration of developers out of urban areas, riding remote work out of San Diego or other cities.

My beloved dog Bodhi was very special to the family as he showed unconditional love, trust, loyalty and dedication to his owner. Seeing Bodhi sick with immune mediated haemolytic anaemia (IMHA) during the last few months was heart-wrenching. Finally, my husband and I decided not to go ahead with all these invasive procedures, and opted for palliative care for Bodhi. Bodhi had a good 14 years with us and we wanted him to enjoy his familiar surroundings during his last days. I told him, “Bodhi, may you be born as a human being in your next life.”On his very last night, Bodhi had a seizure and was gasping for breath.

However, this durian may have fallen through a small gap and landed on my car instead,” Wan Mahussin Wan Zain, 27, said when contacted by LifestyleTech. “I decided to make a video where I offered the durian for RM500 just for fun, as a way to make myself feel better. Wan Mahussin added that the minister offered to send him money anyway to help bear the cost of his car repairs. A check with the Ministry of Human Resources confirmed that Saravanan did indeed reach out to Wan Mahussin personally to purchase his durian. Wan Mahussin said he is happy to be able to make people laugh during the pandemic through his spontaneous video.

HALF of my family members, eight of us, have received at least the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, and we are forever grateful to the government-of-the-day for that. And mentioning about Opposition-led state governments, I am really sad that my nephew and his family (wife and four small kids) still refused to register under the MySejahtera app for vaccination. This group, to me, can never and will not resonate to the truth of vaccination messages or campaigns, let alone the government’s plans or strategies. Their refusals, no doubt, will only pose a hurdle to the government’s plans to bring us to post-pandemic days. If you don’t want, it’s okay but don’t let other people get influenced by you.

Which is why support is critical during the confinement period and after, especially during a pandemic when many women have already experienced heightened anxiety and fear. Bracing herself for this eventuality, Hasnida decided to serve out the confinement period in her own home, with the aid of a confinement lady. “I’m worried about the confinement lady – is she safe and free from Covid-19? “I think women are stronger than we think. When I have hard days, I look at my little baby and everything else just fades away,” says Nisha.

(July 19): U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen expressed doubts about last year’s trade deal with China, the first clear statement from the Biden administration detailing its thinking about the future of the agreement between the world’s two largest economies. For its part, the Chinese government has mostly praised the trade deal, even as it has criticized U.S. actions and statements in other tense areas. “The first phase of the agreement is good for China, good for the U.S., and good for the whole world,” Ministry of Commerce Spokesman Gao Feng told reporters last week in Beijing. Ever-growing Chinese surplusThe deal hasn’t reduced the U.S. trade deficit with China, one of former President Donald Trump’s goals. With no sign of when the U.S. will finish its review of its China policy, it’s unclear whether the trade deal’s future will be resolved this year.
