He said he was present at the gathering after a few friends had invited him and he was just trying to be "sporting". Jamal said he was present at Kampung Poh in Bidor because he wanted to purchase fertilisers for his fish pond business at Bukit Merah. "So happened it was durian season and my friends at the orchard invited me to eat some durian. SHAH ALAM (June 28): Only 5% to 10% of the total number of Covid-19 positive cases are from the manufacturing sector, Senior Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said. “Therefore, it is not true to put the blame on the economic sector, especially the manufacturing sector,” he told reporters after visiting the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) vaccination centre (PPV) here today. The SCCC vaccination centre under PIKAS that is managed by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) began vaccination for manufacturing sector workers in Selangor today. Meanwhile, Mohamed Azmin said the centre is one of eight public-use vaccination centres in the country with approval to operate latest by July 5. According to him, there are two types of vaccination centres under PIKAS, namely the public-use vaccination centres involving convention and exhibition centres as well as hotels and on-site vaccinations centres on the factory premises.

The daily positive cases are down only because they are doing fewer tests — was one point made. In fact, the infection rate is now much lower than the year’s peak of 11.9% on Jan 2, which triggered MCO 2.0. Our death rate (0.65%) is lower than our neighbours, except Singapore (0.05%), and far lower than the UK (2.8%) and the US (1.8%). On that score, we have done well to keep the death rate low so far. Which is why, although it may not be a popular thing to say, I would rather see the glass as half full, and not half empty, after 18 months of a vicious pandemic.

KUALA LUMPUR: A businesswoman is expected to be charged on Tuesday (June 29) for structuring fund deposits into her business bank account to evade detection by the bank. Structuring a transaction or better known as smurfing is a technique used by financial criminals to deposit or withdraw cash obtained from illegal activities. "More than RM230,000 were deposited into the business account via several transactions. CTR is a mechanism used by Bank Negara to monitor any cash transaction, be it deposit or withdrawal, conducted by any individual at a bank. In December 2018, Bank Negara amended the transaction amount that requires a report from a bank, which is from RM50,000 daily to RM25,000 daily.

The Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) sent out an alert warning the public to ignore vaccination registration forms being disseminated on WhatsApp and other unofficial channels.In a tweet , it urged the public not to respond to such messages as their personal information could be misused.Giving out personal information could put users at risk of scams, which have proliferated during the pandemic.It reminded the public that they can register for vaccination through the website vaksincovid.gov.my, MySejahtera app and the national Covid-19 Vaccination hotline at 1800-888-828.The official portal requires users to submit information such as their MyKad number, home address, phone number, email address and health status.According to JKJAV, more than 16.43 million people have registered for vaccination and 5.2 million have received their first dose.Families can now start registering children as young as 12 years old for vaccination, up from the previous age limit of 18.The move to immunise children and teenagers comes after the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for children aged 12 and up.

KUALA LUMPUR: CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd is offering free MyCTOS reports with Bank Negara Malaysia’s Central Credit Reference Information (CCRIS) for consumers as part of a nationwide financial empowerment campaign. In a statement on Monday, CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd said over the past 12 months, there has been a 52% increase in consumers accessing their CTOS credit report. As for the CTOS personal credit report contains details about a person’s debt, account histories for credit cards and loans such as payment history, including any late payments, credit limits or loan amounts, account balances and credit inquiries, CTOS Data Systems said. CTOS Data Systems said potential landlords may also review an applicant’s credit report to decide whether to rent their property or not. Some employers even check credit reports as part of the job application process.

NILAI: Industries and private businesses in Negri Sembilan will soon be able to purchase Covid-19 vaccines for their workers, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun. The state government, he said, had also approved this and would call the programme "NS Sejahtera". He said the data of vaccine recipients under NS Sejahtera would be incorporated into the national MySejahtera database. Aminuddin said the first vaccination centre under NS Sejahtera would be in Dewan Ube at the Nilai 3 Industrial Area.
