That means owners of casinos in Australia's five most populous cities now face enforcement investigations that could carry fines or restrict their licences. "We have an enforcement investigation under way at Crown casino that demonstrates the seriousness of our concerns. And we also have significant compliance work under way on the casino sector," Rose wrote. The crackdown may meanwhile complicate a A$9 billion buyout by Star of larger rival Crown, which has been fielding takeover approaches. Crown shares were down 1.5% in a flat overall market and Star shares were down 3%.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand kicked off a long-awaited mass vaccination campaign on Monday as the country battles its third and worst wave of the coronavirus epidemic. The government aims to administer 6 million doses of locally-made AstraZeneca and imported Sinovac vaccines this month, hoping to assuage worries about the slow roll-out and supply shortages. But the government has come under fire from opposition politicians who accuse it of complacency and an over-reliance on the locally-made AstraZeneca doses. Thailand will receive an additional 3.24 million doses from AstraZeneca after mid-June, the health ministry said in a statement, but did not specify how much would be locally made. Thailand expects to sign a contract this week for 20 million shots of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.

Help, not hinderFirst, decriminalising suicide must be seen as part and parcel of shifting our response to mental health towards one that is more health- and social-based. Second, throughout my mental health journey, I have always felt that stigma is the biggest hurdle that we face. WHEN I went to get my first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on June 1 at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre, Selangor, I was surprised at how people were allowed to enter the vaccination centre. Some able-bodied seniors were allowed in with their chaperones all the way through, which led to congestion inside the centre. After two hours, people understandably got impatient and many tried to jump the queue when the officials’ backs were turned. The number of people at vaccination centres needs to be managed to prevent the process from turning into a superspreader event. These are my suggestions:> Do not allow chaperones (some had more than one) to accompany able-bodied and mentally sound senior citizens.

ROME: Italy striker Ciro Immobile has often struggled to replicate his scoring form for Lazio on the international stage but if he does, the resolute Italians have every chance of Euro 2020 success. The Azzurri have come a long way since their humiliating failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. Roberto Mancini’s side conceded only six goals in 16 games in their Euro 2020 qualifying and Nations League campaigns. “I felt a weight off my shoulders because I hadn’t scored from open play for a year and a half for Italy, ” Immobile told RAI Sport. It remains to be seen if Immobile can translate club form into goals for Italy but if he does they could be a real force.
