Bird’s eye view on learning
SMS Seri Puteri, Kuala Lumpur was part of the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) pilot programme which ran throughout the 2019 school year until February last year. The students and teachers were given a pre- and post-programme assessment to gauge the effectiveness of the module. Kremlin critic Gudkov sees arrest as bid to bar him from election run
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian opposition politician Dmitry Gudkov, held in custody for two days this week, has accused authorities of arresting him and other Kremlin critics on trumped-up charges in a bid to stop them running in September's parliamentary election. Gudkov, who denies any links to the property, told Reuters in an interview on Friday that the charges against him were designed to curb his political ambitions. The Kremlin has said recent arrests of politicians such as Gudkov have nothing to do with politics, and denies trying to clear the field of political opponents. Gudkov's arrest on Tuesday coincided with that of Andrei Pivovarov, another opposition figure, who was removed from a flight about to leave for Poland. A new law signed by President Vladimir Putin on Friday bars members of "extremist" groups from running for office.

First Malaysian mayor of Yorkshire was always hardworking and helpful, says brother
SEREMBAN: Nadarajah Krishnapillai vividly remembers the call he got over a year ago from his brother Chris when the latter was appointed the first Malaysian-born Mayor of a town in West Yorkshire, England. It was Chris calling to inform his 'anne' (big brother) that he had just been elected mayor of Calderdale. my Say: Sunzi and the art of bad leadership
For a course on good leadership, few books can match the Chinese classic, Sunzi’s The Art of War. Teaching good leadership may, however, be difficult in an age and in countries where that is strikingly missing. Let me first concede that this article is merely a call for the adoption of an approach rather than a penetrative analysis of what bad leadership looks like. The good leader, Sunzi further tells us, secures his base first. I feel tempted at this point to introduce another approach to defining bad leadership.
