The Times has compiled the list via its “expert team of reviewers”, who have “hand-picked the best hotels in the UK” from hundreds of contenders. According to the paper, “this year’s list celebrates the very best new hotels as well as old favourites with something fresh to say.”Featuring on the list is Michelin-star restaurant Osip, which bagged an impressive overall score of nine out of 10 from the newspaper’s reviewer, Susan d’Arcy. The reviewer writes: “The 11-course tasting menu is obligatory, with enthusiastic waiters delivering a story with each course. Standout dishes included the lovage broth, a heavenly blast of summer sunshine, accompanied by a moreish fermented potato brioche and cultured butter topped with a dehydrated nettle. The boarding arrangements impressed Ms d’Arcy only slightly less than the food and location, resulting in an eight out of 10 rating.
