Consultant jailed, fined for stealing handphone, impersonating cop - Nation


KUALA LUMPUR: A 36-year-old fund development consultant was jailed and fined on charges of stealing a handphone, trespassing and impersonating a police officer. Sessions Court Judge Shamsudin Abdullah sentenced Azmin Disa to two years in jail and fined him RM1,000 fine after he pleaded guilty on Friday to stealing the handphone. He also handed down two one-year jail sentences after Azmin pleaded guilty to house trespassing and impersonating a police officer, and ordered the sentences to run concurrently from the date of Azmin's arrest on Feb 18. The accused was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code for stealing a handphone belonging to one Muhammad Najmi Mohd Faudzi. He was also accused of committing an offence under Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a police officer to ransack Muhammad Najmi's belongings.
