SEPANG: A tourist from India has been detained by Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KLIA) Customs Department yesterday for attempting to smuggle 5.15kg of methamphetamine drugs hidden in his luggage bag. A regular visitor to Malaysia, the 55-year-old farmer from Chennai, India, was travelling with a return ticket on board Malaysian Airlines MH0181 to KL. He was detained by the KLIA Customs as he was going through the airport scanner. The drugs were well hidden in special compartments of his luggage bag, said the KLIA Customs director Datuk Hamzah Sundang. "Chennai seems to be a hot spot for drug smugglers eyeing the Malaysian market," Hamzah told reporters at a press conference in KLIA Customs Cargo Complex this afternoon.
