This Dunedin building, spanning King Edward and Rankeilor streets, was the scene of a well-involved fire on Saturday night. Six fire engines and an aerial appliance are battling a fire in commercial building in South Dunedin. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson said multiple 111 calls had come in reporting a fire at King Edward St, near Hillside Rd. Video being streamed from the scene showed the two-storey brick building well alight, with Fire and Emergency crews targeting the upper storey. A large ladder was being used to hit the iron roof with water from King Edward St, while crews on Rankeilor St were sending water in via the first storey windows.
