A four-alarm fire ripped through an east-end home causing severe damage to the property Tuesday morning. Emergency services responded to a call for a fire at 473 Queen St. E., near Sumach Street in the Corktown neighbourhood, at 9:15 a.m. The fire quickly developed into a four-alarm blaze, with black smoke billowing from the building, before fire crews brought the blaze under control by 11 a.m.Toronto Fire Services District Chief Stephan Powell said no one was found injured following a preliminary search of the three-storey building. The fire caused severe damage to the building and its roof collapsed. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
