KLANG Municipal Council’s (MPK) expenditure has overtaken revenue by about RM18.1mil for the first five months of the year, says its president. MPK, he said, collected RM95mil in assessment tax as at June 24, comprising RM78.6mil in current assessments for the first half of the year and RM16.4mil in arrears. “Compared to the year before, overall collection of assessment tax for the same period increased by 8%, amounting to RM6.7mil,” said Ahmad Fadzli. He said the second term assessment tax bills would be sent out in early July, urging ratepayers to settle their dues by Aug 31 to avoid an additional RM20 fee notice charge. “The public can still make payments online or at kiosks located at MPK headquarters,” he said.
