Manufacturers urged to switch to making protective equipment

Associate Professor Don Clucas and his med student daughter, Emma, have designed a prototype face shield for the Christchurch DHB. More than 70 businesses have signed up to a new register for businesses prepared to switch to making face masks and other protective gear. One effort, called Project Face Shield, has gathered together volunteers with 3D printers to make full-face barriers according to easily accessed plans on the internet. "Many of the business reached out to say they could reconfigure their operation to do face masks and other equipment." SUPPLIED Clothing company Cactus Outdoor has turned its entire operation to making face masks.
