Maurizio Sarri has refused to raise his expectations beyond a top-four finish despite admitting Chelsea are closer to Liverpool’s level than he previously gave them credit for. Sarri’s side beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and were only denied a Premier League win by Daniel Sturridge’s last-minute equaliser on Saturday. The 1-1 draw puts Chelsea just two points off the top, but Sarri is convinced that Manchester and Liverpool remain a step ahead of the field.
