Netanyahu was due to travel to the Latin American country from Aug. 6-9. Tensions have been high in recent weeks along the border between Israel and Gaza, an Islamist-controlled Palestinian territory. Israel has lost tracts of farmland and forests to fires setby kites and helium balloons laden with incendiary material and flown over from Gaza. At least 155 Palestinians have been killed in the protests and one Israeli soldier was shot dead by a sniper in Gaza.
