THE newly built Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPac), has been converted into a full-fledged industry vaccination centre (PPVIN) prioritising the immunisation of retail employees and mall frontliners. The venue, which began serving as a PPVIN on July 27, is located at 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya and is in line with the government’s aim to accelerate the retail industry vaccination programme (RiVAC). “We are hoping to vaccinate 21,000 retail and mall employees from 1 Utama and surrounding malls by the end of this period,” said the mall’s operations general manager Samantha Lee. “We hope that efforts through the RiVAC programme can ensure a return to normality for the retail and shopping mall industry so we can finally welcome shoppers back to our premises,” she added. The initiative is in collaboration with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry and National Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force and is specifically for those working in the retail industry.
