Scores of Algerians died last month in Mediterranean trying to reach Spain


Some 53 young Algerians perished or went uncounted for last month while trying to reach Spanish Baleare Islands, TSA reports citing Spanish media El Diario de Murcia. Algeria has become a major departing point for migrants wishing to reach Europe via Spain, the Spanish media said citing Maria Angeles Colsa, member of CIPIMD, a Spanish NGO helping identify migrants who has disappeared. Angela Colsa sounded the alarm over the media almost total blackout on the phenomenon while noting that the Algeria – Baleare Islands route is very dangerous. “The route between North Africa and the Baleare Islands is dangerous. The humanitarian worker also stressed that families of migrants often reach out to her organization to get updates on their children.
