JUANA SUMMERS, HOST:Today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was killed by the Israeli military in Gaza on Wednesday. Sinwar, a pivotal figure behind Hamas' October 7 attack, rose to become the group's top leader in July. To explain the larger implications of his death for Hamas, the region and the war with Israel, we're joined now by Daniel Byman. And Hamas has enough power remaining, enough people remaining, where it's going to remain strong in Gaza despite Israeli efforts. SUMMERS: Now I'll just remind folks that Israel also killed Hezbollah's longtime leader, Hassan Nasrallah, just a few weeks ago.

The Virginia basketball team, less than a month before the start to its season, will have to find a new coach. Bennett, 55, joined the Cavaliers ahead of the 2009-10 season, and he was .500 in his first two seasons. Bennett and his Cavaliers came back with a vengeance, though, running the table to win it all the next year. Prior to joining Virginia, Bennett coached Washington State for three seasons, making the tournament in two of those campaigns. Black conservative radio host Shelley Wynter drew outrage from many when he broke down the Black male electorate in the U.S. into “house African Americans and field African Americans” during an appearance Wednesday on CNN. “This race is between house African Americans and field African Americans, and field African Americans are voting for [Donald] Trump.”During enslavement in the U.S., “house slaves” worked in the main house and generally performed indoor tasks. At the same time, Wynter’s comments highlighted the intensity surrounding the Black male vote and how influential it may be in November. “It just does a disservice to all of us, both as voters and as Black Americans. “There’s nothing that compares to enslavement in the United States or for Black Americans,” he said.

Walker Buehler's regular season couldn't have gone much worse following a return from Tommy John surgery, but on Wednesday night, he looked like his old self. With other injuries to the Dodgers rotation, including Kerhsaw, Buehler was tabbed as a starter almost out of necessity. But L.A. won that series in five games, and the Dodgers tabbed Buehler as their starter for Game 3 of the NLCS. That's something for me that I don't think he ever had to do. You look at June or July, I don't think anybody could have seen him in this position right now, so that's a credit to Walker."
