The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to suspend classes and examinations in all government and private medical colleges across the country from March 10. The decision was announced in a notification issued on Monday by the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME). According to the notification, classes and internal examinations at all medical and dental colleges and their affiliated units will remain closed during the government-declared holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr.

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Monday said two suspects in Hadi murder case who were arrested in India will be brought back to Bangladesh under the existing extradition treaty between the two countries. DHAKA, March 9, 2026 (BSS)- Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has formed monitoring and control cells at the central and regional levels to ensure proper and uninterrupted supply of fuel oil across the country and to quickly address any complaints related to distribution. According to a press release issued on Monday and signed by BPC Secretary Shahina Sultana, the initiative aims to closely monitor fuel oil stock, supply and sales situations nationwide. In addition to the central control cell established in Chittagong, regional monitoring cells have been formed in Dhaka, Bogura, Khulna, Sylhet and Barishal. The press release said the monitoring and control cells have been formed in coordination with the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, BPC and the concerned oil marketing companies. The notification also stated that any information regarding fuel oil distribution, storage, smuggling or adulteration can be reported immediately to the concerned control cell.
