But for journalism to thrive, it requires multiple outlets: videojournalism, investigative journalism, print journalism, podcasting, and documentaries. Ann-Renée Desbiens earned a win last season in Vancouver with a 29-save performance that launched a career-high six-game winning streak for the Goaltender of the Year. She’s backstopped Montréal’s three-game win streak and ranks second with a 0.99 goals-against-average and third with a .966 save percentage. Vancouver has won all three of its games at Pacific Coliseum this season (two in regulation, one in overtime). Tens of thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers spent much of Saturday without power after high winds and rain hit the province overnight. As of 6:09 p.m. AT, Nova Scotia Power’s outage map showed that about 25,000 customers were still without electricity. (Submitted by Nova Scotia Power.) Nova Scotia Power said more than 600 people were in the field Saturday working to restore power as soon as possible. The utility said it was using a helicopter to patrol power lines in different parts of the province to search for damage.

Southern Alberta’s historic Stampede Ranch is no longer under threat of receivership after a discontinuance was filed at court this week by the investment firm which launched the court action in late October. The discontinuance of claim terminates Farm Lending Canada’s court action "pursuant to an agreement between the parties." The 135-year-old Stampede Ranch ranch was once run by Calgary Stampede founder Guy Weadick.
