Thus, there is an urgent need of fostering leadership and integrity and enhance youth’s livelihoods, among other governance issues, as mirrored in the 10-point agenda. However, some politicians have blatant contempt for the 10-point agenda. The implementation of the 10-point agenda is turning the UDA-ODM MoU into a progressive charter of transformation. The 10-point agenda issues are focused on public interest and founded on the values of good governance. Wearing broader lenses of development governance, we should join hands and transform Kenya by implementing the 10-point agenda.

Presidents recover their campaign billions through political patronage, state influence, and opaque financial networks that blur the line between public service and private gain. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has apologised to residents of Kieni Constituency over what he described as political mistakes he made during the 2022 General Election campaigns, saying he intends to correct them ahead of the next polls. Uganda President Yoweri Museveni/FILEA coalition led by the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) has condemned Ugandan authorities for blocking its partner organisations from monitoring Thursday’s presidential election. The coalition described the environment in Uganda as falling far short of internationally recognised standards for free and fair elections. The coalition singled out the Electoral Commission of Uganda (ECU) for incompetence and complicity, citing manipulated voter registers, arbitrary removal of opposition candidates and unlawful directives during polling. Allegedly, more than 20 candidates from the opposition National Unity Platform were disqualified, while more than 20 NRM candidates were declared unopposed. Several NGOs had their operating permits suspended on January 12 and restrictions have been placed on media coverage of protests and election results.
