The following three men gave their lives that day, and on the anniversary of D-Day, we look back at who they were. Assigned to the 319th Glider Field Artillery Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, he trained at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, and Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Sources showed him as a member of all three batteries of the 319th Glider Field Artillery, but his headstone shows Battery B.Warren G. BircherJune 6, 1944U.S. On April 22, 1942, the Chillicothe Gazette reported that Frank and dozens of other Ross County men had been accepted for military service. Upon his entry into the Army, Frank received serial number 35402137 and was sent to Camp Blanding, Florida, for engineer training.
