IN THE AFTERMATH of Tuesday’s runoff election, one glaring issue demands our immediate attention and introspection: the shockingly low voter turnout. Yet, the low turnout witnessed in the runoff election suggests a significant disconnect between citizens and their civic responsibilities. Economic growth and prosperity are intrinsically tied to the health of our democracy, and a low voter turnout threatens to undermine these foundations. AS WE REFLECT on the consequences of the low turnout in the recent election, we must brace ourselves for the impact it may have on our nation. LET THIS BE a wake-up call for all of us to rekindle the flames of patriotism within our hearts.
