v + T – normal sizeLibya is witnessing internal and external movement to hold parliamentary and presidential elections, and to take decisive steps to organize them this year, as everyone is certain that the solution in Libya inevitably passes through elections, according to what the Libyans themselves decide, and without interference from any party. Libyans hope that 2023 will be a year of renewed hope for the possibility of political parties agreeing on the constitutional basis and election laws, which lead to presidential and parliamentary elections that put an end to the transitional stages. He said, “National reconciliation is the basis of all tracks, and it will be strengthened by giving its foundations (reparations and compensation) a priority in public spending.”The House of Representatives in Tobruk (east) took the initiative to amend Constitutional Declaration No. 13, and avoided contentious articles with the Supreme Council of State (consultative parliament), especially with regard to the candidacy of dual nationals for the presidency, and left it to the stage of preparing election laws. With this step, the House of Representatives avoided engaging in further sessions of negotiations with the State Council, to prepare a constitutional basis on which the elections would be held.
