Two more people have died of dengue fever in Bangladesh while 964 others have been admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours. According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Wednesday, the latest deaths occurred in Mugda Medical College Hospital and Kurmitola General Hospital. In October alone, 77 people died of dengue, marking the highest death toll in 2025, followed by the second-highest monthly toll of 76 fatalities recorded in September. The health directorate has been keeping records of dengue-related hospitalisations and deaths since 2000. Among those years, 2023 saw the highest number of hospitalisations with 321,179 patients and the highest number of deaths, totalling 1,705.
