Foreign Affairs Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow made the call at the Asean Foreign Ministers' Retreat on Thursday in the Philippines, where the crisis in Myanmar topped the agenda. Mr Sihasak said violence and armed conflict have continued since Myanmar's military takeover in 2021, despite Asean's efforts under the Five-Point Consensus. With Myanmar having held a general election, he said Asean must reassess its role.
