Dairy and beef operations do produce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses, but methane is one of the real baddies. Here in Aotearoa New Zealand, the focus is on Asparagopsis armata, a red seaweed native to New Zealand and Australia. We would have to grow tonnes and tonnes of Asparagopsis, and in fact a number of companies have sprung up hoping to do just that. Animals in the rest of the world live in barns and eat dry food, but here our cows eat grass outside.
