Collection 2% short of target in Q1Listen to this articlePhoto: 123RFThe government's net revenue collection in the first quarter of fiscal 2026 (October–December 2025) amounted to 633 billion baht, falling 2% short of the target, mainly due to an accelerated refund of corporate income tax to businesses. However, after deducting refunds totalling 134 billion baht from gross revenue, net government revenue stood at 633 billion baht, which was 13 billion baht, or 2% below the target. As for tax collection by the three main tax agencies in the first quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, the Revenue Department collected 481 billion baht, exceeding the target by 0.6%; the Excise Department collected 139 billion baht, surpassing the target by 7.6%; while the Customs Department collected 28.6 billion baht, falling 8% short of the target. Meanwhile, remittances from state enterprises in the first quarter totalled 64 billion baht, exceeding the target by 8.5%. Other agencies contributing revenue to the state remitted a combined 53.4 billion baht, surpassing the target by 23.3%.
