The workshop covered various topics, such as environmental and social impacts, risk management, resource efficiency, pollution prevention, biodiversity protection, and community health and safety. It also showcased best practices and high-standard health, safety, and environment regulations, aiming to foster a culture of excellence and responsibility among the contractors and workers assigned to the project. A component of this project is the construction of the University of Liberia Fisheries College and Regional Center of Excellence. BITAR and MAK construction companies are contractors of the University of Liberia Fisheries College project. They emphasized that investing in health and safety education will protect their workforce and positively influence productivity for constructing the University of Liberia Fisheries College and Regional Center of Excellence.
