CAIRO – 21 May 2022: Belgium's Ambassador to Egypt, François cornet d'elzius, confirmed that the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Brussels last February, where he was received by King Philippe of Belgium, reflected deep relations between both countries in many fields. In an exclusive statement to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), the Belgian ambassador said that Egypt and Belgium have "excellent, strong and extended" relations in many fields. The Ambassador of Belgium to Egypt praised the strong economic partnership between the two countries, as Egypt is considered “Belgium's second trading partner in the Middle East,” as well as an important partner for his country in Africa due to its distinguished geographical location. He further noted that there are many investments of Belgian companies in Egypt. The ambassador also referred to the importance of cooperation between his country and Egypt in the cultural field, as there are several Belgian archaeological missions in Egypt.
