CAIRO- 24 September 2021: The Greek government supported Egypt with 250,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine “AstraZeneca”, announced the Egyptian Ministry of Health on Friday. In her meeting with the Greek ambassador to Egypt Nikolaos Garilidis, Egyptian Minister of Health Hala Zayed appreciated the Greek government’s support provided. The death cases reported in the same period reached 31 fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths to 17,074, the statement added. Egypt’s Health Minister Hala Zayed said the country has received a total of 33.657 million doses of AstraZeneca, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik V and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Egypt also plans to release 1.926 million doses of the locally-made Sinovac vaccine between 18 to 24 September, the minister said in a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
