The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has received detailed information on top officers of 24 banks, including the central bank, from the finance ministry. On Tuesday, ACC officers said the letter from the ministry included names of governors, deputy governors and heads of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) who served at Bangladesh Bank over the past decade and a half. The list includes state-owned banks Sonali, Janata, Agrani, Rupali, BASIC and Bangladesh Development Bank, as well as boards of directors and managing directors of 18 private banks. The request followed an ACC inquiry into allegations against former Bangladesh Bank governor Atiur Rahman. An ACC official said the documents also include certified copies of pre-2009 loan rescheduling policies and all rules issued since then on loan rescheduling.
