The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) says it is continuing to implement its plans to modernize power stations in all cities by providing equipment and spare parts to raise production efficiency and performance and improve its production capabilities. Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald, GECOL spokesperson, Wiam al-Taeb, said shipments of electrical equipment and spare parts arrived Sunday at the company’s warehouses through Tripoli seaport. Adding that three shipments supplied by Turkey’s Calik Company, including boiler burners for gas heating, arrived for the Zueitina power station. Implementation of strategic maintenance planAl-Taeb indicated the continuation of the implementation of the strategic plan for the maintenance of power stations spread across several cities. He said the capacity of Libyan power plants will reach approximately 11,000 megawatts of total generation capacity this summer.
