FRAMINGHAM — The City Council on Thursday could be voting for the second time this year on whether to name a permanent director of public health. Alexandra DePalo, who had served as Framingham's interim director of public health from February until last week, will appear before the council's Appointments Subcommittee at 6 p.m. Thursday. They first go before the City Council, where they are then referred to the Appointments Subcommittee for discussion and recommendation. In June, Mayor Yvonne Spicer nominated Monifa Charles, who had nearly 20 years of experience working in public health, to replace Sam Wong as the next health director. The nomination failed, earning only four City Council votes.
