"The construction sector needs the optimal amount of manpower for construction projects to be completed within schedule." He noted that currently, the construction sector workforce comprise mostly foreign workers. "The border closures and halting of applications for the entry of new foreign workers have affected construction activities. The reduction in the number of foreign workers can be seen from the trend of ownership of temporary employment visit passes (TEVP) (see table)," he said. "Currently, the application and admission process for foreign workers is done through the foreign workers centralised management system under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resources.
