After a meeting with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus on Sunday, Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher outlined the party’s position. “Questions are emerging in our minds and across the nation about whether we are moving toward a blueprint-style election,” Taher said. He criticised the government for announcing an election date after Yunus met a BNP acting chief in London, calling it “unprecedented” and “undermining impartiality”. “It has given advantage to one party and shaped public perception that this party will receive government benefits in the national polls,” he added. After meeting Jamaat, Yunus held separate talks with the National Citizen Party (NCP) and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party delegations.
