CAIRO - 18 January 2022: The Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayyad, stressed that the government's most important goals are to increase the hours of feeding Lebanon's electricity to become effective and regular by about 8 to 10 hours in the near term, by securing Egyptian gas and Jordanian electricity, so that the monthly electricity bill becomes lower for citizens. On September 8, the energy ministers of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan agreed during a meeting in Amman on a roadmap to supply Lebanon with Egyptian gas as soon as possible. The energy ministers of four Arab countries, namely: Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, agreed to deliver Egyptian natural gas to Lebanon, through Jordan and Syria, provided that they submit an action plan and a timetable for its implementation. He explained that Egypt is working to speed up coordination for the arrival of Egyptian natural gas to Lebanon through Jordan and Syria, in the interest of Egypt to alleviate the burdens of the Lebanese people and contribute to supporting the brotherly country and its stability.
