Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah on Tuesday dismissed Libya's Ambassador to Belgium, Amal Al-Jarari after she was heard in an alleged leaked audio recording planning to fake government bills for self-interest. The PM media office said the procedures to suspend Al-Jarari have been referred to the Presidential Council as per the legislation in force. For his part, the Public Prosecutor ordered the pretrial detention of Ambassador Al-Jarari on charges of mismanagement and financial misuse. Al-Jarari faces charges of deliberately attempting to gain illegal benefits by seizing state funds and causing harm to the public interest. The charges stem from a leaked audio recording purportedly of Al-Jarari, where she requests her secretary's assistance to fabricate a massive bill for a supposed cancer patient, enabling her to access government funds in a manner that avoids legal prosecution.
