They began as young boys entering Ateneo Grade School during the presidency of Ramon Magsaysay, when postwar optimism and populist reforms shaped a hopeful nation. Though his life was tragically cut short in a plane crash, the country pressed on with economic growth and a buoyant outlook that mirrored the boys’ own youthful promise.
