The Malaysian diplomat said although roads are safe as Hat Yai is gradually returning to normaly, visitors should have flood cover for vehicles as a precaution. Hat Yai is recovering from the devasting flood in November that crippled tourism and the hospitality sector, among other economic damage. Hotels in Hat Yai district are struggling due to the plunging confidence of local and foreign tourists.
