A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants at Maizpara in the Halishahar area of Chattogram city on Friday night. The victim was identified as Mohammad Akbar, a resident of Halishahar and father of three children, UNB reports. He was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Akbar’s sister, Jotsna Begum, alleged that her brother had long been running a cooperative association in the area and was involved in financial transactions. Some local criminals had been demanding extortion money from him, and as he refused to pay, they killed him, she claimed.
