Metro rail operations have resumed from Motijheel to Shahbagh nearly seven hours after a fatal accident involving a fallen bearing pad. Services from Motijheel to Shahbagh resumed at 7:15pm.”A bearing pad from the metro rail line fell at Dhaka’s Farmgate around 12:15pm on Sunday, instantly killing a pedestrian. Metro rail operations were suspended immediately following the incident. The metro rail will run from Agargaon to Diabari for the time being.”Later in the evening, the DMTCL said services between Motijheel and Shahbagh would also resume. A roadside tea stall was also damaged alongside the pedestrian’s death after the metro rail pad fell, witnesses said.
