Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider has presented his credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban. Haider replaces Syed Ahmed Maroof, who had been serving in Dhaka since December 2023. He was also deputy head of mission in Tehran and held diplomatic assignments in Madrid, New Delhi, Abu Dhabi and at Pakistan’s UN mission in New York. The high commission said the president welcomed Haider, congratulated him on the appointment and assured full support in carrying out his diplomatic responsibilities. He also expressed his best wishes for the high commissioner’s successful tenure in Bangladesh, it added.
