CAIRO – 6 September 2021: Egypt sent two military planes carrying urgent humanitarian aid to Sudan through an air bridge that will be extended over the coming days, a statement by the Egyptian military spokesman said on Sunday. This comes “within the framework of Egypt’s support and solidarity with the brotherly Sudanese people in various crises and adversities,” the spokesman said. The aid included tons of humanitarian aid that includes large quantities of tents and blankets provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent Society to contribute to “alleviating the burdens shouldered by the Sudanese citizens,” the spokesman added. For its part, the Sudanese side expressed their deep appreciation of the Egyptian efforts and support Egypt provides to the Sudanese people. The Sudanese side also affirmed that this aid reflects the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation between the brotherly Egyptian and Sudanese peoples, the spokesman added.
