The state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported Friday that its subsidiary, the Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Company, started operating its ethylene plant after a hiatus of more than ten years. The restart was achieved using only Libyan cadres, the NOC said. Commenting on the restart, NOC chairman Farhat Bengdara said “With great effort, determination, and by Libyans, the maintenance of the units of the Ras Lanuf industrial complex has been completed. Through this step, the Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company has reached an advanced stage in the plan to restart the industrial complex, which started in 2019, the NOC reported.
