Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has met with Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain. It also added that Sharif referred to his recent meetings with Bangladesh’s chief advisor in New York and Cairo. Khalid handed over a letter from Yunus to the Pakistani prime minister. “In this difficult time, the people of Bangladesh stand by the brotherly people of Pakistan,” Yunus wrote, according to the press statement. Earlier in the week, Khalid met in Lahore with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
