The Islamabad High Court Bar Association has issued a strong response to the court’s remarks after the arrest and conviction of Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha, saying that there is no truth in the remarks regarding the involvement of the bar in the arrest. Islamabad High Court Bar Secretary Manzoor Jaja said in a statement that such remarks about the bar by a respected judge who was the president of the High Court Bar in the past are regrettable and he should not make such comments. Manzoor Jaja said that the High Court Bar itself runs the affairs of the bar in a good manner and judges should refrain from making remarks about the bar because bar councils exist for this purpose. He said that lawyers have a pen and arguments, they do not have to speak through force. The Secretary High Court Bar said that the cases of Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha were fixed on priority basis by Chief Justice Sarfaraz Dogar and the cases that came up were fixed by the Chief Justice himself.
